Student Life in Charleston
As a student at the International Diving Institute, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy everything the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina has to offer. When you’re not in the classroom or gaining hands-on experience in the water, you’ll have the chance to explore the city with your classmates. Many of our students become life-long friends and count their time as students in Charleston among their fondest memories. Below, you’ll find a list of some fun things to do in Charleston.
At Patriot’s Point, you can tour the U.S.S. Yorktown and learn about the important role it played in history. Veterans and civilians alike tend to learn a lot and have a great time on their visits to Patriot’s Point.
In Charleston, you’ll find several breathtaking beaches, including a local favorite, Folly Beach. Our students love relaxing on the sand, playing beach volleyball, and swimming.
This historic submarine is the world’s first successful combat submarine. You can tour it and learn about the amazing role it played in history.
Jack’s Cosmic Dog
At this amazing hot dog joint, you can enjoy hotdogs like never before. The toppings seem to be limitless and the atmosphere makes this restaurant a great place to unwind and have a good time with friends.
Commercial diving training can be exhausting and, sometimes, our students just need to relax. Luckily, the library is nearby. You can grab a book or even rent a DVD and enjoy a restful evening.
